YOU CAN PREVENT KIDNEY FAILURE

Early detection & intervention and are critical

in preventing end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and dialysis.

Early is better.  Symptoms of mild to moderate (stage 2-3) chronic kidney disease (CKD) can be subtle. Nevertheless, it is during these early stages that prevention is the easiest and the most effective.  In the late stages of CKD the kidney's reduced function limits your treatment options, making it much more difficult to prevent further decline.

You (and your kidneys) ARE what you eat.  What you eat & drink are critical, yet often underemphasized or even overlooked. Though it is important to review and optimize the medications you take, just as important are the quality and quantity of nutrients and essential minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium e.g.)

which you consume every day.

Strong bones, & zero stones.  Patients with CKD are 4 times more likely to suffer fractures as they get older.  But simple dietary changes can prevent bone loss as well as reduce kidney stone risk.  In addition to preventing kidney stones and failure, we will optimize bone health.

It's not just about the kidneys. Cognition and emotional health.  Persons with kidney disease are much more likely to suffer early-onset dementia and depression.  In addition to maintaining strong bones, we will come up with effective strategies to prevent memory loss and dementia, and maintain a positive outlook.
